Dera Ismail Khan: Heavy rain early Friday led the Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Dera Ismail Khan to step up drainage and cleanup work across the city.
WSSC teams were deployed at several locations to clear standing water and maintain drainage. Water supply staff used motor pumps to remove accumulated rainwater, while sanitation crews addressed other weather-related issues and worked to keep roads accessible.
Officials said crews and equipment had been assigned to priority areas, and dewatering would continue until conditions improved.
They urged residents and shopkeepers not to throw plastic bags, wrappers or other rubbish into drains, warning that waste can block water flow and cause flooding on roads and in public spaces. The company also asked residents to dispose of garbage at designated locations and keep their surroundings clean.
WSSC said its teams would continue clearing affected areas and called for public cooperation to support effective drainage during and after rainfall.
