LAVAL: Ontario’s Roman Sadovsky captured his second Canadian senior men’s figure skating championship at the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships in Laval, Quebec.
Sadovsky finished the competition with 240.35 points after recording 81.44 points in the short program and 158.91 in the free program.
The result placed him ahead of Quebec’s Anthony Paradis, who finished second with 225.56 points. British Columbia/Yukon skater David Li earned the bronze medal with 197.99 points.
Sadovsky’s victory was one of the major results of the senior competition at Place Bell. He had entered the championships among the experienced skaters in the Canadian men’s field and produced consistent performances across both segments of the competition.
According to Skate Canada’s championship coverage, Sadovsky began the event strongly and held the lead following the short program.
The final standings confirmed his second Canadian senior men’s title. The 2025 championships also provided an opportunity for younger skaters to challenge established names. Anthony Paradis, for example, finished second with a strong overall performance, while David Li completed the podium.
The senior men’s event was part of a wider national championship programme that included women’s singles, pairs, ice dance and synchronized skating.
Held in Laval from January 14 to 19, the championships brought Canada’s leading domestic figure skating athletes together for one of the country’s principal national competitions.
Sadovsky’s title added another national achievement to his career and highlighted the competitive depth of Canadian men’s figure skating.
