CHINIOT: A 22nd free medical camp was organized by the administration of Islamia Hospital Chiniot at Chak No. 155, Sajanka (Tehsil Bhowana, District Chiniot), where 372 patients underwent medical examinations.

The camp aimed to provide free medical treatment, medicines, diagnostic tests, and medical guidance to the poor, the needy, and those lacking access to basic healthcare facilities.

Residents from the local area as well as neighboring regions benefited from the camp. The medical camp was organized under the patronage of Mian Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Federal Minister for the Board of Investment, with expenses covered by the Chiniot Anjuman-e-Islamia.

The event was facilitated by the guidance and support of Mian Shafiq Ahmed, Chairman of the Islamia Hospital Chiniot Management Committee, along with other committee members.

Although Mian Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh had intended to attend the camp in person, he was unable to do so after being summoned by the Prime Minister to attend an important meeting in Islamabad; nevertheless, he remained in constant contact with the hospital administration regarding the camp’s arrangements and activities.

During the camp, general medical check-ups were conducted for men, women, and children, and patients received free medicines, blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, medical consultations, wound dressing, and other essential medical services based on their needs.

Screening for Hepatitis B and C was also carried out, and free insulin was provided to diabetic patients in need. According to the data, a total of 372 patients comprising 109 men, 141 women, and 122 children were examined.

Seventy-nine blood sugar tests were performed, while one patient tested positive for Hepatitis B out of 55 tests conducted for the virus.

Similarly, 55 tests for Hepatitis C were conducted, revealing the presence of the virus in seven patients. Furthermore, free insulin was provided to 10 eligible diabetic patients.

The organization of free medical camps by Islamia Hospital Chiniot is part of an effort to extend basic healthcare facilities to the needy and to raise public awareness regarding the timely diagnosis of diseases and preventive measures.
