PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, during his visit to Muzaffarabad (Azad Kashmir) on sunday in connection with the street movement, addressed a public gathering and the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected cabinet of the Central Bar Association.
He stated that the attitude of the imposed group in Kashmir after the regime change operation is against Kashmiri traditions. This group cannot succeed in their nefarious objectives through petty tactics.
The Chief Minister further said that there is a heartfelt bond between Kashmiris and tribes that can never be broken. He added that those who have imposed themselves on Pakistan and Kashmir did not come with the people’s mandate; instead, they have usurped the mandate.
Elections are once again approaching in Kashmir, and efforts will be made to steal the vote. Therefore, the people must ensure the protection of their rights.
The Chief Minister praised Imran Khan for boldly raising the Kashmir and Palestine issues before the international powers. He mentioned that Imran Khan and his wife are unjustly imprisoned, and despite health issues, they are steadfast in their stance.
He said that meeting with Imran Khan is their right, and all constitutional, democratic, and legal avenues have been pursued, but they are not being allowed to do so. Judicial orders are being ignored, and the behavior of the fake Prime Minister is irresponsible.
He added that they are following all constitutional and democratic routes, but no response is being received. Despite this, they continue to participate in federal government meetings in Pakistan in the interest of the country.
The Chief Minister stated that sacrifices are being made for the country and nation, but the occupying group remains committed to its fascism. Opponents have reached the extreme of mental and moral degradation, and peaceful sisters of Imran Khan are being baton-charged outside Adiala Jail. Afridi said that the fake rulers do not think in Pakistan’s interests, but he will not stay silent.
They will protest vigorously within the law. He announced that a large-scale protest call will be issued soon, and this time, the entire Pakistan will come out. He praised the Kashmiri people for their enthusiastic response to Imran Khan’s call and said that the mass gathering in Muzaffarabad reflects the public’s sentiments and this message should be delivered to every household.
The Chief Minister said that if necessary, every intersection will be turned into a D-Chowk, but they will not relinquish their rights. He added that a lawyers’ rally was organized across Pakistan, and a strike call has been issued for May 6, hoping that lawyers will play their vital role.
After the 26th and 27th amendments, courts have been paralyzed, and for a year and a half, Imran Khan’s cases have not been prosecuted. This fake regime is afraid of Imran Khan; whenever his voice is raised, chaos ensues. If he himself comes out, their sleep will be disturbed.
He mentioned that lawyers have led unprecedented movements in the past, and even today, the nation wants to see the same kind of movement. The people will stand with them. He said that the people are fed up with the incompetent group imposed on them and want to get rid of this torment.
The Chief Minister highlighted that nearly seventy million people are below the poverty line, the trade deficit is increasing, and the economy is in ruins. He emphasized that they must try themselves and stand up for their rights. The actions against the constitution and law are against the country and the nation.
The Chief Minister expressed his support for the restoration of an independent judiciary and said that they will fully support the lawyers’ community. He added that they will soon issue a final call and that everyone will play their part for the future of the nation. Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, Salman Akram Raja, and others also addressed the gathering.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi calls for nationwide protests to defend democratic rights and independence of judiciary.
