Encroachments Return at Rodu Sultan Adda, Disrupting Traffic

18-Hazari: Illegal encroachments have once again emerged at Rodu Sultan Adda, causing disruption to traffic flow

18-Hazari: Illegal encroachments have once again emerged at Rodu Sultan Adda, causing serious disruption to traffic flow and creating difficulties for commuters and local residents.

The encroachments include unauthorized rickshaw stands, roadside carts and temporary stalls occupying public spaces and parts of the main road.

Despite the formation of the Para Force in 18-Hazari to control and eliminate encroachments, the situation remains unresolved. Following administrative operations, the encroachments have reportedly reappeared, raising questions about the effectiveness of enforcement and monitoring.

The illegal rickshaw stand, carts and stalls have narrowed the available road space, resulting in frequent traffic congestion, particularly during busy hours. Pedestrians, women, elderly citizens and passengers also face considerable difficulties while passing through the area.

Local residents said that multiple written applications have already been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner Jhang and the District Council authorities, seeking action against the encroachments, but no effective and permanent action could be taken to resolve the issue.

Citizens expressed concern that temporary operations alone cannot address the problem unless regular monitoring and strict enforcement are ensured. They demanded immediate action to remove the illegal rickshaw stand, carts and stalls from the road and restore smooth traffic flow at Rodu Sultan Adda.

Residents have also appealed to the Assistant Commissioner 18-Hazari, Deputy Commissioner Jhang, Commissioner Faisalabad Division, Chief Secretary Punjab and the Chief Minister Punjab to take notice of the situation and ensure a permanent solution to the longstanding encroachment problem.
