SHORKOT: An event regarding the tree plantation campaign was organized at the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Shorkot.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Shorkot Zafar Ahmed, Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr. Maria Imdad, SDO Forests Rana Zafar, Deputy MS Dr. Zeeshan Mazhar, Dr. Fahad, Dr. Imran Kathia, Dr. Muhammad Afnan, Dr. Iqra, and other hospital staff. During the event, various types of saplings were planted within the hospital premises.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Zafar Ahmed stated that a large number of saplings are being planted across various areas. He shared that instructions have been issued to every Numberdar (village head) to ensure the plantation of 1,000 trees in their respective areas.
Highlighting the importance of the drive, he noted that planting trees helps eliminate smog, increases oxygen levels, and makes the environment pleasant.
Awareness campaigns are actively underway to ensure that Numberdars fulfill their responsibility of planting trees in their local areas.
