Pinky into Jail; Sindh Interior Minister Takes Notice of VIP Protocol

KARACHI: A local court has sent the arrested accused, Anmol, to jail on judicial remand. Meanwhile, the Sindh Interior Minister, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, has taken strict notice of the “protocol” provided to the accused, Anmol alias Pinky, in a narcotics case and has summoned an immediate report from Additional IG Karachi, Javed Alam Odho.

Interior Minister Zia Lanjar has ordered a transparent inquiry into the incident, questioning how the accused was provided with VIP protocol. He directed responsible officials to submit an explanation and ordered immediate action against the personnel involved in facilitating the accused.

“Action will be taken against those who damage the reputation of law enforcement agencies. Giving unnecessary protocol to suspects in courts is against the requirements of justice. The Sindh government will not compromise on the supremacy of law,” the Minister stated.

IG Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, also took serious notice of the violation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and departmental rules during Pinky’s court appearance.

According to a police spokesperson, instructions have been issued to immediately suspend the Investigating Officer (IO) and the staff responsible for negligence.

A high-level inquiry committee, led by a senior officer, has been formed to ensure a transparent investigation.

The spokesperson indicated that action is likely against those who presented the accused in court without handcuffs.

The Karachi Police Chief, Azad Khan, clarified that violations of law and SOPs will not be tolerated, emphasizing that all officers and personnel are bound by the prescribed rules and regulations.

Background of the Arrest

The Garden Police conducted a successful operation earlier today, arresting the female drug dealer.Police claim to have recovered a pistol, cocaine worth millions of rupees, chemicals, and other intoxicating substances from Anmol alias Pinky.

The accused was a highly wanted fugitive involved in over 10 criminal cases.She was allegedly operating a drug dealing and supply network in the city, using online platforms and specific riders—including female riders to distribute narcotics.
