Islamabad Police Announces Traffic Plan for Marka-e-Haq

Heavy Vehicles Banned in Islamabad on May 10 Amid Maarka-e-Haq Festivities,Alternative Routes Recommended for Commuters During Maarka-e-Haq

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced on Saturday a comprehensive traffic diversion plan in connection with the “Marka-e-Haq” celebrations. To ensure smooth flow and security, several major arteries will remain closed or diverted from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Major Road Closures

According to police officials, the following key routes will be affected:

  • Srinagar Highway: Closed for all traffic from Kooriyanwala Chowk to Peshawar Mor.
  • Faisal Avenue: The stretch from Expressway Faizabad to Khayaban Chowk will remain inaccessible to commuters.

Alternate Routes for Commuters: Traffic Restrictions from 6 PM to Midnight for Marka-e-Haq Celebrations

To minimize inconvenience, the ITP has suggested the following alternative routes:

Restrictions on Heavy & Light Vehicles

The authorities have also laid out specific timings for different vehicle categories:

  • Light Transport Vehicles (LTV): From 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM, LTVs will be diverted from Rawat toward Rawalpindi.
  • Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV): A strict ban on the entry of all heavy traffic will be in place on May 10, spanning from 4:00 AM until midnight.

Note: Citizens are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with the traffic police personnel deployed on the roads to avoid any hassle.
