LAHORE : The ninth meeting of the current session of Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq Lahore was held at the Pak Tea House under the presidency of Saima Iram. Joint Secretary Shahzad Faramosh presented the proceedings of the previous meeting.
Following this, Ruqayya Akbar presented her poem, “Kanch Ki Gudiya” (The Glass Doll), for critical review. Offering her presidential remarks after the debate, Saima Iram stated, “In my view, while this may not be a masterpiece, it is also not something that should be dismissed as a poem.”

Commenting on Dua Azeemi’s short story, “Full Stop Kay Baad” (After the Full Stop), the worthy president noted that the story is set against the backdrop of Iranian society, is presented in the format of a flash-fiction piece (Afsancha), and suffers from some issues regarding eloquence.
Speaking on Khalid Javaid Jan’s ghazal, Saima Iram remarked, “I thoroughly liked several verses of this ghazal, and with such a fine ghazal, I hereby announce the conclusion of this meeting.”

In the end, Secretary Halqa Aftab Javaid thanked the worthy president and the participants. He announced that the upcoming meeting will be presided over by Abbas Tabish and will showcase new voices in poetry. The meeting was attended by 70 participants.
